About Tiffany

In the late ’80s, Tiffany stormed out of the malls and onto the top of the U.S. charts with fresh-faced teen-pop tunes. Her 1987 self-titled debut produced two No. 1 hits—a peppy cover of the Tommy James & The Shondells-popularized “I Think We’re Alone Now” and the sweeping ballad “Could’ve Been”—and a Top 10 gender-flipped Beatles cover, “I Saw Him Standing There.” Born in 1971 in Norwalk, CA, Tiffany Darwish cut her teeth singing country music before a memorable Star Search appearance helped usher in her professional pop future. Unlike many ’80s teen phenoms, Tiffany has continued to make music well into the 21st century, though she’s remained connected to her roots: In 2007, she issued an ’80s covers album, and 2018 brought the R&B-tinged “80s Baby” collaboration with her frequent tourmates New Kids On the Block and fellow teen-pop survivor Debbie Gibson. Yet she’s also never been afraid to expand her horizons and try new directions, as on the sophisticated pop-rock on 2021’s Pieces of Me and the Go-Go’s-reminiscent single “Hey Baby.”
